To access individual fibers in a drop cable, technicians use fiber optic drop cable slitters. These tools allow precise slitting of the cable jacket at mid-span or end sections without damaging the fibers inside. Popular tools include:

  • Deployment: Splitters can be installed indoors (IP20-rated) or outdoors (IP65/IP66-rated) in cabinets, enclosures, or on utility poles .
