Best For: Budget-conscious users or small offices needing reliable fiber connectivity without high-end features.

Key Considerations for Fiber RoutersWAN Port Speed: For fiber plans above 1 Gbps, routers should have at least 2. 5 Gbps or 10 Gbps WAN ports to avoid bottlenecks.

Wi-

Fi Standard: Wi-Fi 7 (802. 11be) is recommended to fully utilize fiber speeds, offering wider channels and higher throughput than Wi-Fi 6.

Multi-

Device Support: Tri-band routers with dedicated 6 GHz radios prevent interference and maintain high speeds across multiple devices. Security Features: Built-in VPN acceleration, malware protection, and network management tools enhance safety and performance. Compatibility with ONT: Routers must support Gigabit Ethernet and work with the Optical Network Terminal (ONT) provided by ISPs for fiber signal conversion.
